About Me

Stephanie Hartfield, RCC

MA Counselling Psychology and Art Therapy

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a passion for supporting individuals through life’s challenges and transitions. I specialize in helping clients navigate issues such as grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence. My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each person I work with.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and have training in evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques. I believe in the power of building strong therapeutic relationships, where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to create meaningful changes in their lives.

I offer a non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings, develop new coping strategies, and find pathways to healing. Whether you are struggling with personal loss, relationship challenges, or just need a place to work through everyday stressors, I am here to help. My goal is to support you in finding balance, resilience, and a greater sense of well-being.

I offer online counselling to accommodate clients with busy schedules or those who prefer the comfort of their own space. I am dedicated to making therapy accessible and effective, meeting you where you are in your journey toward better mental health.

My Inspiration

Nicki Nicki Nicki

Losing my 14.5-year-old Pomeranian, Nicki, was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. She was more than just a pet—she was my best friend, my constant companion through every high and low of my twenties and early thirties. Her unconditional love and presence gave me a sense of stability and comfort that few could understand.

I had experienced the loss of family and friends before, whether due to expected or traumatic circumstances, but losing Nicki felt different. She became ill, and although it seemed she was improving, she suddenly took a turn for the worse. The vet told me there was nothing more they could do for her. A piece of my heart and soul left with her that day.

I was overcome with grief, and it felt like no one could truly understand the depth of my pain. The loss of my "soul dog" left a void that words couldn’t express. The process following her death was overwhelming and isolating. There was little communication from the veterinary team about next steps or resources for emotional support. I didn’t know when her cremated remains would be returned or if I would receive the paw prints I had requested as keepsakes. There was no guidance, only silence.

For many of us, it’s not “just a dog.” We’re losing a companion, a source of love, and sometimes our closest confidant. I understand that pain deeply, and I want to be there for others who are navigating the loss of a beloved pet. My goal is to provide a compassionate space for grieving, helping you feel seen, supported, and understood as you work through the healing process.
