Mission Statement

At Counselling with Heart, I provide a compassionate and creative space for individuals navigating grief, loss, and life’s challenges. Specializing in DBT and art therapy, I empower clients to process emotions, build resilience, and discover healing through self-expression. Whether facing pet loss, life transitions, or emotional overwhelm, my practice offers a safe, collaborative environment where every story is honored, and growth is nurtured with empathy, creativity, and heart.

Grief and Loss

Grief and loss therapy addresses more than just the sorrow following a loss, it also applies to everyday experiences like the end of a relationship, job changes, or significant life transitions. This type of therapy helps individuals process feelings of sadness, anger, or confusion related to any kind of loss, allowing them to heal and adapt. By working through grief, individuals can gain emotional resilience and find new ways to move forward in their lives.

Pet Loss

Pet loss therapy provides support for individuals grieving the loss of a beloved animal companion. It acknowledges the deep emotional bond between pets and their owners and helps process the pain, sadness, and sense of loss that often accompany this experience. Through counseling, individuals can honor their pet’s memory, navigate the grief process, and find ways to heal and adjust to life without their cherished companion.

DBT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that focuses on teaching individuals skills to manage emotions, handle stress, improve relationships, and live mindfully. DBT is used for a range of mental health everyday living issues. It helps individuals by fostering emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, making it easier to cope with challenges and improve overall mental well-being.

Art Therapy

Art therapy uses creative expression as a therapeutic tool to help individuals explore emotions, process trauma, and improve mental well-being. By engaging in activities like drawing, painting, or sculpting, people can express feelings they might struggle to put into words. Art therapy promotes self-discovery, emotional healing, and personal growth, making it a valuable approach for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges.
